MySQL Database Administrator

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced MySQL Database Administrator to join our dynamic DBA team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and performance optimization of MySQL databases, while also possessing knowledge and hands-on experience with MongoDB.

Key Responsibilities:

·        MySQL Database Management:

Design, implement, and maintain MySQL databases to ensure optimal performance, availability, and security.

Perform routine database tasks such as backup, recovery, and monitoring.

Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly.

Collaborate with development teams to optimize database schema and queries for application performance.

·        MongoDB Administration:

Apply knowledge of MongoDB to design, deploy, and maintain NoSQL databases.

Implement and optimize MongoDB indexing for improved query performance.

Monitor and ensure the health, security, and scalability of MongoDB clusters.

Troubleshoot and resolve MongoDB-related issues.

·        Database Security:

Implement and enforce security best practices for both MySQL and MongoDB databases.

Manage user access control and permissions for databases.

Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.

·        Performance Tuning:

Analyze and optimize database performance through query optimization, indexing, and configuration adjustments.

Work closely with development teams to identify and address performance bottlenecks.

·        Backup and Recovery:

Develop and maintain robust backup and recovery strategies for MySQL and MongoDB databases.

Test and validate backup and recovery procedures regularly.

Documentation:

Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database architecture, configurations, and procedures.

Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant team members.

Qualifications:

·        Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

·        Proven experience as a MySQL Database Administrator with a strong understanding of relational database concepts.

·        Hands-on experience with MongoDB, including database design, deployment, and maintenance.

·        Proficiency in database security, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.

·        Strong SQL skills and experience with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python).

·        Familiarity with database backup and recovery processes.

·        Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

·        Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
