GSPANN is hiring a Database Administrator to manage Oracle, SQL Server, and MySQL databases across enterprise environments. The role focuses on database performance tuning, high availability disaster recovery, and ensuring secure, reliable operations.
Role and Responsibilities
- Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and MySQL databases across production and non-production environments.
- Monitor database health, performance, capacity, and availability to ensure stability and proactive issue prevention.
- Tune queries by optimizing indexing strategies, analyzing execution plans, and improving overall database performance.
- Execute approved Data Definition Language (DDL), Data Manipulation Language (DML), and Data Control Language (DCL) changes in line with governance and change management processes.
- Design, implement, and manage High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions, including regular failover testing.
- Manage backup, restore, Point-in-Time Recovery (PITR), and disaster recovery processes to ensure data protection and recoverability.
- Perform database refreshes, cloning, migrations, and decommissioning activities as part of lifecycle management.
- Enforce database security by managing access controls, auditing, and compliance requirements.
- Troubleshoot database incidents, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), runbooks, and operational documentation.
Skills And Experience
- 6-8 years of hands-on experience managing Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and MySQL databases across production and non-production environments.
- Demonstrate strong expertise in database administration, performance tuning, and High Availability / Disaster Recovery (HA/DR) implementations.
- Apply advanced Structured Query Language / Transact-SQL (SQL / T-SQL) skills to troubleshoot issues, tune queries, and optimize indexing strategies.
- Implement and manage backup, restore, Point-in-Time Recovery (PITR), and database migration processes to ensure data protection and recoverability.
- Install, configure, patch, upgrade, and manage database platforms throughout their lifecycle across multiple environments.
- Monitor database health, performance, capacity, and availability with a proactive approach to issue prevention.
- Execute approved Data Definition Language (DDL), Data Manipulation Language (DML), and Data Control Language (DCL) changes in compliance with governance and change management standards.
- Design, support, and maintain HA/DR solutions such as Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), Data Guard, SQL Server Always On, and database replication technologies.
- Perform database refreshes, cloning, migrations, and decommissioning activities as part of operational support.
- Manage database security, access controls, auditing, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Troubleshoot production incidents, conduct root cause analysis (RCA), and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), runbooks, and operational documentation.
- Collaborate effectively with application, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to support releases and ensure operational stability.
