Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with strong expertise in Oracle, MSSQL, PostgreSQL and MySQL, and proven experience in database migrations to AWS (RDS / EC2). The ideal candidate will work closely with our core migration team to support ongoing Oracle, MSSQL, PostgreSQL and MySQL and Dynamo DB migration activities.
Job Duration: 2.5 Month (Extendable up to 6 month)
Key Responsibilities:
- Define the migration strategies well suited for the business.
- Assist in planning and executing migration of Oracle, MSSQL, PostgreSQL and MySQL databases to AWS (RDS / EC2).
- Perform database assessments and identify compatibility or performance issues before migration.
- Configure and optimize AWS database services including RDS, EC2, and related tools.
- Develop and validate migration scripts and test plans.
- Support data validation, replication, and cutover planning.
- SSIS and SSRS migrations
- Implement best practices for database security, monitoring, and backups post-migration
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience with Oracle, MSSQL, PostgreSQL and MySQL.
- Proven experience in migrating databases to AWS (RDS and/or EC2).
- Strong knowledge of schema conversion, data replication, and data validation techniques.
- Experience with AWS Database Migration Service (DMS).
- Proficiency in performance tuning and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with backup/recovery strategies and high availability configurations.
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and database security practices.
