Core Responsibilities
- Maintain Oracle databases acrossCloud (OCI)andon-premisesenvironments to meet organizational data storage and retrieval needs.
- Monitor and optimize database performance, includingquery tuning,indexing, andconfiguration adjustments.
- Perform regular maintenance tasks such asbackups,patching, andversion upgradesto ensure data consistency and system integrity.
- Implement performance monitoring and alerting solutions to proactively address performance issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related incidents and problems in collaboration with application teams.
- Support schema setup, load balancing, failover, and connection management for application teams.
- Proactively tune systems for performance and stability, ensuring SLAs are met for large-scale databases.
- Perform root-cause analysis and troubleshooting as aLinux Systems Admin/Engineer.
- Manage installations and configurations of Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and GoldenGate.
- Install and manage Oracle databases inOCI and Autonomous Transaction Processing (ATP)environments.
- Implement and managecloud networking taskssuch asIPsec VPN,FastConnect, andinterconnectivitybetween cloud and on-premises systems.
- Apply best practices incloud security, including identity and access management, encryption, and compliance.
- Develop and maintainbackup and disaster recovery strategiesto ensure data availability and business continuity.
- Integrate and manageMicrosoft Active Directory (AD)security within database environments.
- Maintain appropriate levels ofSQL Server securityand access controls.
- Monitor, trend, and tune SQL databases, including running maintenance jobs (backups, DBCCs, indexing/re-indexing).
- Ensure SQL Server patching, installation, and backup processes are functioning as expected.
Essential Qualifications Experience
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum5 years of experiencemanaging Oracle Database solutions in production environments.
- Expert-level knowledge of Oracle architecture, administration, and performance tuning.
- Strong understanding of networking, storage systems, andASM disk groups.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, GoldenGate, and OCI deployments.
- Experience withSQL tuning,trace file analysis,listener logs, andalert logs.
- Proficiency in data extraction, transformation, masking, subsetting, and loading.
- Experience withSQL Servermaintenance, performance tuning, and security.
- Ability to estimate work effort and manage multiple tasks in parallel.
Desirable Skills
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or equivalent certification.
- Experience with Oracle Fusion applications.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
- Exposure to finance or healthcare-related systems.
