Job Description

Overview

We're seeking a UX/UI Designer with strong knowledge of PowerBI who is passionate about crafting thoughtful, user centered data experiences. This role sits at the intersection of design, data, and stakeholder engagement - perfect for someone who enjoys understanding user needs and turning complex information into simple, elegant, and intuitive products.

You'll collaborate closely with stakeholders to uncover insights, design compelling interfaces, and support the build of Power BI dashboards that are as user friendly as they are visually polished. This is a great fit for a designer with BI capability or a BI developer with a strong design mindset.

Your role

  • Lead UX activities such as user interviews, journey mapping, sketching, and wireframing.
  • Facilitate requirements workshops, user-testing sessions, and feedback cycles.
  • Translate user needs into intuitive concepts, layouts, and data stories.
  • Develop high quality UI designs, prototypes, and visual assets.
  • Apply accessibility standards and inclusive design principles.
  • Evolve and maintain a consistent design system for PBI Dashboards.
  • Lead UI QA for PBI Dashboards, applying visual updates within PBI.
  • Implement bestpractice DAX, data modelling, and performance optimisation.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging design trends, PBI features, best practises, and technologies.
  • Partner with business users, analysts, and data teams to codesign solutions.
  • Communicate design rationale and data concepts clearly to nontechnical audiences.

About you

  • Demonstrated experience in UX, UI and PBI design.
  • Understanding of DAX, Power Query (M), data modelling concepts, and performance tuning.
  • Strong visual design skills with an eye for typography, colour, and layout.
  • Understanding of designing for accessibility and inclusivity.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Confident in presenting designs and engaging with stakeholders.
  • A willingness to learn new skills and grow as a designer.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Portfolio showcasing design work.
  • Experience with designing and prototyping in Figma.
  • Experience designing in Power BI.
  • Experience designing or contributing to a design system.
  • Understanding of data storytelling, information design, or behavioural insights.
  • Familiarity with Agile ways of working.
  • Exposure to accessibility and WCAG principles in data products.
