Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Data Tester with a strong background in ETL and Data Warehousing environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for validating data integrity, ensuring smooth ETL workflows, performing root-cause analysis, and collaborating closely with data engineering and BI teams to guarantee high-quality data delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform ETL testing for complex data pipelines across data warehousing environments.
- Validate data transformations, data mapping, data extraction/loading, and end-to-end data flow.
- Develop and execute detailed test plans, test scenarios, and test cases.
- Conduct data validation and reconciliation between source and target systems.
- Perform regression, integration, functional, and system testing for data-related applications.
- Identify defects, analyze root causes, and follow through to resolution.
- Ensure compliance with data quality, performance, and reliability standards.
- Work closely with ETL developers, DBAs, business analysts, and QA teams.
- Prepare test documentation including test reports, defect logs, and sign-off documents.
Required Skills & Experience
- 410 years of strong hands-on experience in Data / ETL testing.
- Expertise in Data Warehousing concepts, ETL workflows, and data lifecycle.
- Proficiency in SQL for writing complex queries and performing data validation.
- Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, DataStage, SSIS, Ab Initio, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with data visualization / reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) is an advantage.
- Experience in Agile / Scrum environments preferred.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
