The Data Solutions Manager is a senior member of the ISS Data Management team, responsible for supporting the operational management, quality, and delivery of data across ISS business teams and data domains. This role sits within the first line of defence, embedded in the business, and works directly with data owners, stewards and consumers to ensure that data is accurate, fit for purpose, and effectively supports business processes and decision-making.

• Maintain and monitor data quality across ISS data domains, working directly with senior data owners, stewards and consumers to resolve issues and improve standards
• Track and manage ISS data issues, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication with stakeholders, including Production Services and other technology and delivery teams
• Act as a liaison between ISS business teams and the enterprise data governance function, ensuring adherence to enterprise data policies and helping communicate governance requirements and updates to ISS business teams
• Build strong working relationships with data owners, stewards, and business teams to understand data requirements, and the business context of its usage
• Act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders on data-related matters, providing hands-on support and guidance
• Support implementations of improvements to data capabilities like the implementation and maintenance of business data identifiers, defining ISS's Universe of Interests and data standardisation (e.g. Index, Sector, Asset Class)
• Collaborate with the Market Data team, ensuring that existing and new data solutions are aligned to our principles for optimizing data costs and correctly licensed data usage
• Extract and integrate data from multiple systems to support analysis and reporting needs
• Perform data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improving data quality and operational efficiency
• Design and configure data validation processes, including automated checks and exception handling, to ensure accuracy and consistency across data domains.
• Facilitate collaboration between ISS and technical teams to ensure data products and solutions are well integrated and meet operational needs
• Run and report on data quality metrics, escalating issues where necessary and supporting remediation efforts.
• Support the identification and mitigation of data-related risks within ISS, including the formal logging of risks and the timely closure of audit and compliance actions.
• Ensure that data-related controls are embedded in business processes and that data owners are supported in meeting their responsibilities
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies and proposing enhancements to data processes and tooling
• Chair and participate in ISS data forums and working groups focused on improving data management practices and the timely escalation of any urgent items
• Provide input into data design and operational readiness for change initiatives and strategic projects (e.g. ROMA)
• Monitor completion of data training specific to ISS and encourage adoption of best practices across ISS business teams
• Support the standardisation of data management approaches across domains and portfolios for a more consistent operating model across the enterprise
• Work closely with Data Architecture and technical product owners to ensure alignment on data definitions, models, and metadata
• Support the prioritisation and tracking of data lake hydration activities relevant to ISS domains
• Engage with data consumers to ensure successful adoption and usage of ISS data products

• Proven experience in a data management, data operations, or business analyst role within financial services or asset management
• Strong understanding of business data flows, operational data usage, and stakeholder engagement
• Familiarity with data quality tools and metrics, and experience resolving data issues in a business context
• Hands-on experience with SQL, Python, or similar scripting languages for querying and manipulating large datasets.
• Experience in configuring and deploying data quality validation frameworks or tools.
• Ability to leverage data analysis to inform data governance and quality improvement initiatives.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams
• Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau) is beneficial
• Knowledge of data mastering, metadata, and business data identifiers is a plus
• Proactive mindset with a passion for improving data culture and operational efficiency
