Role:
We are seeking a Data Scientist to drive actionable insights and predictive modeling for our sports analytics practice. This role focuses on analyzing user behavior, building advanced machine learning models, and partnering with product and marketing teams to optimize engagement and monetization strategies. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise in Python, SQL, and DBT with a deep understanding of experimentation, predictive analytics, and data storytelling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver Analytical Insights: Analyze user behavior across DTC digital platforms (apps, games, websites) by integrating clickstream, streaming, CRM, and marketing data to uncover actionable insights for product and marketing teams.
- Drive Strategy: Evaluate user cohorts, feature adoption, content engagement, churn drivers, and monetization levers. Translate findings into strategic recommendations for product and marketing initiatives.
- Predictive Modeling: Design, build, and maintain machine learning models for churn prediction, upsell propensity, and personalized recommendations. Monitor model performance and retrain as needed.
- Experimentation & Optimization: Apply A/B testing, clustering algorithms, and test-and-learn approaches to refine models and improve engagement and monetization strategies.
- Data Engineering Collaboration: Partner with engineering teams to streamline data integration, optimize queries, and ensure models are production-ready.
- KPI Tracking: Define and monitor success metrics to measure program impact and inform decision-making.
Candidate Profile:
- Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in data science or product analytics
- Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and DBT for data analysis and modeling.
- Familiarity with modern ML libraries (e.g., scikit-learn) and best practices for model validation.
- Version control experience using GitHub in collaborative environments.
- Hands-on experience with churn modeling and / or other predictive analytics projects.
- Solid understanding of experimental design, A/B testing, and statistical analysis.
- Strong communication and storytelling skills to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Strong problem solving skills and history of taking ownership of projects
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with streaming or digital engagement datasets (e.g., Adobe Analytics, Conviva).
- Experience with cloud infrastructure management and automation using AWS tools and services.
