At OpusCollect.ai, we're looking for a Data Science Intern who's eager to build a career in collections and credit risk analytics.
This is a paid, 4-month internship offering hands-on exposure to live lending data, analytics-driven strategy, and close collaboration with business and tech teams.
What You'll Work On-
- Assist in building and enhancing collection scorecards and early warning indicators.
- Perform portfolio analysis- vintage analysis, roll-rates, DPD movement, recovery trends.
- Support customer and portfolio segmentation (bucket, geography, product).
- Track key collection KPIs- cure rates, recovery rates, flow rates, productivity.
- Work on A/B tests and pilot experiments across digital, tele-calling, and field collections.
- Build dashboards and reports using BI tools for internal and client insights.
- Automate recurring reports using SQL and Python.
- Collaborate with collections ops, credit risk, product, and data engineering teams.
Who Should Apply-
- Students or recent graduates in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Data Science, or related fields.
- Strong fundamentals in SQL & Excel; basic knowledge of Python.
- Understanding of statistics (regression, probability, hypothesis testing).
- Exposure to Power BI / Tableau / Looker is a plus.
- Curious to learn how collections and lending workflows operate.
- Comfortable explaining insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with a strong problem-solving mindset.
Good to Have-
- Exposure to FinTech / NBFC / Consumer Lending data
- Basic understanding of logistic regression or ML models
- Familiarity with digital collections, tele-calling, or field data
- Experience with large datasets or dashboards
