Job Description
For the Data Quality Control Specialist (Healthcare Data) weare seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Data Quality Control Specialist to join our Real-World Data (RWD) team. This role is responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of data assets and deliverables by conducting routine data quality and characterization reviews, developing new data quality checks to investigate data fitness for purpose, leading data schema change impact assessments, and cultivating strong relationships with data vendors. As a key contributor to the RWD function, this role works cross-functionally to detect and resolve data issues to ensure product reliability and client trust.
Responsibilities
- Conduct data quality validations and root cause investigations using SQL, dashboards, and data analysis tools.
- Perform impact assessments for data vendor updates or structural changes and communicate downstream implications to relevant teams.
- Develop and enhance proactive quality checks and data validation frameworks to detect anomalies before delivery.
- Collaborate directly with data vendors to verify incoming data integrity and resolve issues at the source.
- Work closely with data engineering, analytics, and client-facing teams to triage and resolve internal and client-reported data concerns.
- Support the reliability and accuracy of our LinQ asset by documenting, tracking, and managing resolution of identified data issues.
- Translate technical data findings into clear summaries for technical and non technical stakeholders.
- Stay current with best practices in data quality management, healthcare data standards, and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Public Health, Biostatistics, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience working with healthcare data and large datasets in a quality control or analytics role.
- Strong SQL skills and familiarity with relational databases and data pipelines.
- Working knowledge of real-world data types such as EMR, claims, and lab data.
- Ability to manage tasks independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of healthcare data privacy and regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA).
- Experience with Redshift or similar cloud-based database systems.
- Familiarity with scripting or data analysis languages such as Python or R.
- Knowledge of workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow.
