They are currently undergoing a large-scale global transformation programme, focused on modernising systems, improving data quality, and standardising processes across regions. This initiative plays a critical role in enabling better decision-making, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency worldwide.
The Role
This role will lead the Master Data Governance (MDG) workstream within a global SAP transformation programme.
You will be responsible for driving strategy, delivery, and adoption of master data processes, ensuring data is consistent, high-quality, and aligned across multiple regions and business units.
Working across business and technology teams, you will play a key role in shaping how data is managed and governed at an enterprise level.
Key Responsibilities
Programme & Delivery Management
- Lead the MDG workstream across planning, execution, and go-live
- Manage timelines, risks, dependencies, and overall delivery progress
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including data migration, testing, and integration
- Support deployment activities including cutover and post-go-live (hypercare)
Data Governance & MDG Setup
- Define and implement master data processes (create, update, retire)
- Establish roles such as Data Owners and Data Stewards
- Drive global data standards across key domains (e.g. Product, Customer, Vendor, Finance)
- Implement data quality controls, KPIs, and monitoring frameworks
SAP & Solution Alignment
- Support design and implementation of SAP MDG within S/4HANA environments
- Ensure alignment with integration tools and broader system landscape
- Promote standardisation and scalable solutions across regions
Data Migration & Readiness
- Work closely with migration teams on data mapping, cleansing, and validation
- Ensure readiness through testing cycles and mock data loads
- Support reconciliation and data quality sign-off ahead of go-live
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Oversee testing activities across MDG (SIT, UAT)
- Ensure data governance processes are tested and validated
- Track defects and ensure resolution prior to deployment
Stakeholder Management & Change
- Engage with global stakeholders across business and IT
- Drive alignment on data standards and governance processes
- Support training and adoption of new ways of working
Risk & Compliance
- Ensure data processes meet regulatory and compliance requirements
- Maintain clear documentation and audit readiness
- Identify and manage risks across the workstream
Required Experience
- Strong experience in SAP MDG within large transformation programmes
- Proven background in SAP S/4HANA environments
- Experience working across multiple master data domains
- Strong programme or workstream leadership experience
- Experience implementing data governance frameworks and processes
- Ability to manage global stakeholders across regions
Preferred Experience
- Experience within Healthcare, Life Sciences, or MedTech
- Exposure to SAP integration tools or cloud platforms (e.g. BTP)
- Experience in data migration and large-scale system implementations
- Familiarity with data quality, metadata, or governance tools
- Relevant certifications (SAP, PMP, Prince2, etc.)
