Looking for Manager Data Privacy & Program Management

[ 812 years of overall experience, 46+ years in data privacy or privacy consulting]

Location - Mumbai

Data Privacy & Program Management will be responsible for end-to-end execution of data privacy implementation programs at client organizations. This role requires a strong blend of data privacy domain expertise and project/program management capability.

The individual will act as the central program owner, coordinating across business, IT, legal, compliance, security, and external advisors to ensure timely, structured, and successful delivery of data privacy initiatives.

This is a hands-on delivery and stakeholder management role, not a policy-only or advisory-only position.

Key Responsibilities

Data Privacy Program Execution

Lead and manage end-to-end data privacy implementation projects for clients.

Drive implementation aligned to applicable privacy laws and frameworks such as:

India Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA)

GDPR (where applicable)

Global privacy best practices

Translate privacy requirements into practical, executable workstreams.

Ensure implementation across key privacy domains including:

Data discovery and mapping

Consent and notice management

Data subject rights (DSR) processes

Vendor and third-party privacy controls

Data retention and deletion

Incident and breach management

Project & Program Management

Act as the overall project manager for data privacy programs.

Develop and manage:

Project charters

Detailed project plans and timelines

RACI matrices

Workstream-level milestones

Track dependencies and risks across multiple stakeholders and functions.

Proactively identify delays, bottlenecks, and risks, and drive timely resolution.

Stakeholder Coordination & Governance

Coordinate with multiple client stakeholders including:

Legal

IT

Information Security

HR

Business teams

Compliance and Risk

Ensure stakeholders clearly understand their responsibilities and deliverables.

Conduct regular governance forums such as:

Weekly project status meetings

Steering committee updates

Senior management reviews

Drive accountability and ensure completion of tasks within agreed timelines.

Project Reporting & Dashboards

Design and maintain project dashboards to track:

Overall progress

Milestones and deliverables

Risks and issues

Dependency tracking

Prepare status reports for senior management and client leadership.

Provide clear visibility into program health, risks, and next steps.

Client Engagement & Onsite Leadership

Operate as the single point of coordination at the client location.

Build strong working relationships with client stakeholders.

Represent the consulting team in client governance and review meetings.

Ensure alignment between advisory recommendations and on-ground execution.

Team & Vendor Coordination

Coordinate with internal consulting teams and subject matter experts.

Manage inputs from legal advisors, technology teams, and external vendors.

Review deliverables for quality, completeness, and alignment to privacy requirements.

Data Privacy & Domain Skills

Data privacy principles

Data lifecycle and personal data handling

Privacy risk assessment and mitigation

Practical experience in data privacy implementation, not just assessments.

Ability to translate legal/privacy requirements into operational actions.

Project & Program Management Skills

Proven experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder programs.

Strong planning, tracking, and execution discipline.

Ability to manage timelines, dependencies, and risks proactively.

Experience creating and managing:

Project plans

Dashboards

Status reports

Steering committee packs

Professional & Behavioral Skills

Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.

Excellent communication and facilitation abilities.

Ability to work onsite and drive outcomes in client environments.

Structured, detail-oriented, and execution-focused mindset.

Qualifications & Experience

Educational Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Law, Business, or related discipline.

Postgraduate degree (MBA / LLM / equivalent) is an advantage.

Certifications (Preferred)

Privacy certifications (any of the following):

CIPP/E

CIPP/A

CIPM

DPO certification

Project management certifications:

PMP

PRINCE2

Agile / Scrum (preferred)

Experience

812 years of overall experience, with:

46+ years in data privacy or privacy consulting

Demonstrated experience managing privacy implementation programs

Strong exposure to client-facing, onsite delivery roles
