The Impact you will have in this role:

As a core member of the Data Management Team within Enterprise Data Solutions, a Senior Associate will be responsible for driving projects forward, managing key deliverables, and helping to drive alignment with key stakeholders. Data Management is a high-impact, fast paced team focused on strategic data solutions, supporting data-driven transformation and modernization efforts, and establishing, maturing, and driving the implementation of industry-leading data management practices for the enterprise. The ideal candidate for this position is a self-starter with strong analytical skills and a demonstrated ability to prioritize, own and drive projects, and quickly learn new concepts and frameworks. Success in this role demands the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to shifting priorities.

You will provide critical support for the management of Data Domains aligned to the team, including support of enterprise-wide Data Management initiatives. You will need to work effectively within an agile framework as part of a cross functional team that includes Product Managers, Product Owners, Business Architects, Operations and Information Technology Subject Matter Experts, Data Architects, Data Modelers, Enterprise Test Engineers, Data Governance and Data Quality Leads, IT Business System Analysts, and other Data Management Analysts. You should also be able to work independently with the appropriate initiative-taking and problem-solving, even in ambiguous situations. This role requires the ability to access, profile and analyze data, understand and document business requirements, and communicate clearly and concisely with a broad range of technical and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

Project & Delivery Ownership

  • Own and manage multiple data initiatives across the full lifecycle from engagement and requirements discovery through execution and close-out ensuring outcomes remain aligned with business objectives.
  • Support project planning activities including scope definition, effort estimation, dependency management, and delivery tracking.
  • Define, track, and report KPIs and delivery metrics aligned to business outcomes and use cases.
  • Identify, track, and manage data-related issues and risks, ensuring timely escalation, remediation planning, and clear stakeholder communication.
  • Serve as a key contributor within agile squads, actively participating in stand-ups, grooming sessions, delivery reviews, and other agile ceremonies.

Business Analysis & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Business, Operations, Product Owners, and Technology/IT stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document data requirements for business processes, including downstream consuming use cases.
  • Define and document clear business rules to support consistent data usage and decision-making.
  • Translate business needs into clear, actionable user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritized backlogs for agile delivery teams.
  • Lead high-impact workshops and working sessions to drive alignment, clarify scope, and resolve open questions with senior stakeholders.
  • Produce clear, concise analysis, reporting, and status updates to support stakeholder and leadership decision-making.
  • Develop and deliver high-quality presentations tailored to executive, business, and delivery audiences.

Data Management & Stewardship :-

  • Perform preliminary data analysis to assess data availability within DTCC, identify Authoritative Data Sources (ADS), and support onboarding approaches for new or enhanced data.
  • Proficient in using Excel and SQL to conduct targeted data analysis, profiling, validation, lineage review, and issue investigation to support requirements definition, impact analysis, and informed decision-making.
  • Collaborate with business and operational partners to define and document business data elements, including standardized names, clear definitions, valid values, and associated business rules.
  • Support data modelers by providing business context, data analysis, and source-system insight to inform conceptual and logical data models.
  • Proactively monitor data quality controls and support data quality initiatives through data profiling, definition, creation and documentation of data quality and validation rules, root-cause analysis, and support of data remediation and data cleansing efforts.
  • Maintain required metadata for critical and prioritized data elements in enterprise repositories, ensuring consistency, traceability, and governance.
  • Mitigate risk by adhering to established procedures and controls, identifying potential issues early, and demonstrating strong ethical judgment.

Talents Needed for Success:

  • 6+ years of experience in a Business Analyst, Data Steward, or Delivery-focused role, preferably within financial services.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong expertise in business requirements analysis, stakeholder engagement, and agile delivery.
  • Proven experience using advanced SQL and Excel to analyze data and support business decisions.
  • Solid understanding of how data supports business processes, reporting, and operational use cases.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate complex topics to non-technical audiences. With good analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint) required
  • Experience working with enterprise data environments, data governance concepts, or metadata platforms (e.g., Collibra).
  • Familiarity with data quality concepts and issue root-cause analysis.
  • Experience using data quality tools such as Ataccama, Informatica DQ is a plus
  • Experience with data analysis & visualization tools, such as Power BI, Tableau is a plus
