Job Description

The Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO) organization sets the firm's data and AI strategic direction, delivers Firmwide data/AI solutions and expertise, and sets standards for responsible and controlled adoption. Within CDAO, the Firmwide Chief Data Office (FCDO) sets the firm's data strategy and leads its governance and control framework, strengthening the data foundation, reducing data and privacy risk, making data self-describing and AI-ready, accelerating data and AI utilization to maximize commercial outcomes, and building talent that reinforces clear ownership and a resilient operating model.

As a Vice President in the Chief Data & Analytics office, you will support Firmwide Data Governance. You will contribute in developing strategic frameworks that define how legal entities are relevant for data governance and the strategic mechanisms for legal entity classification. You will support in development of scenario‑based legal entity classification and attribution guidance within the firm's data governance practice, and facilitate delivery across businesses and functions. You will partner with senior stakeholders in FCDO, CDAO, Technology, Operations, Legal, Risk, Controls, Compliance & Product teams to standardize taxonomy and naming, align tools to the legal entity systems of record, improve legal entity assignment accuracy (including dataset‑level where appropriate), and deliver legal entity content that supports regulatory and data risk objectives in the domains of Data classification, Data Privacy, Data Storage, Data Protection, Data, Data Use, Data Retention & Destruction, Data Quality and regional or jurisdictional data risk management.

Job responsibilities:

  • Partner to design and support the design, implementation and continuous improvement of Firmwide data governance practices for legal-entity identification and classification across assigned data domains.
  • Partner with FCDO, CDAO, Technology, Operations, Legal, Risk, Controls, Compliance and Product teams to embed the outcomes of the Legal Entity Data Related Governance Program into platforms & processes
  • Source, analyze, and document Firmwide practices build analytical baselines and predictive indicators pilot improvements to validate impact and deliver model supported, data driven recommendations to the Working Group.
  • Create & deliver executive ready materials, content and dashboards that summarize status, risks, and key metrics for senior management and governance committees.
  • Oversee the communication & updates of the Program to relevant stakeholders

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Banking, Risk Management or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Significant experience in data governance, data management, data quality or related risk/control or legal/compliance roles in financial services or other highly regulated industries.

  • Strong understanding of data architecture & analytics concepts, and how they are implemented in complex environments.
  • Proficiency in Low code transformation tools like Python, Alteryx, Power BI, Signovia, Qlik Sense etc. to design and deliver solutions for legal entity data governance
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders, balancing business priorities, risk considerations and implementation practicality.
  • Excellent communication, articulation and presentation skills, with experience creating concise, executive‑level materials for governance, steering forums & senior leadership.
  • Strong program and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives, dependencies and deadlines across diverse teams.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills

  • Experience working in or closely with a Firmwide Chief Data Office, Chief Data Office or enterprise data governance function.
  • Familiarity with data‑related regulatory expectations across jurisdictions
  • Exposure to enterprise data platforms, data warehouses, data lakes and metadata / catalog tools.
  • Experience defining and managing dashboards, scorecards and performance metrics for Firmwide or cross‑LOB data.
  • Experience in developing user stories, product roadmaps, and acceptance criteria for technology implementations.

  • Advanced degree or recognized certification in data management, governance or related disciplines is a plus.
  • Proven track record of designing and operating data governance processes at scale, preferably in an enterprise / Firmwide function (e.g., CDO/FCDO).
