Data & Information Architect – Finance to oversee and drive the design and governance of the S/4HANA master data model in the Finance domain, specifically Analyze‑to‑Decide (A2D) and Report‑to‑Record (R2R), including cross‑stream dependencies. This role is part of Lonza's
Nexus business transformation program and will work closely with Business Process Workstreams, Nexus Technology Workstream, extended teams, and implementation partners.
Role Purpose / Summary
The Data & Information Architect ensures robust data design, governance, and quality for Lonza's future global S/4HANA business process template. Operating at the intersection of business and technology, the role drives master and transactional data management processes, supports global deployments, and ensures integration across domains. It requires strong expertise in data architecture, governance frameworks, and stakeholder collaboration to enable high‑quality, compliant, and business‑relevant data solutions.
Key Accountabilities
- Data Model Design & Governance: Support A2D and R2R workstreams with design, deployment, and governance of master and transactional data architecture.
- MDM Processes: Design and deploy best‑in‑class master and transactional data management processes in S/4HANA and SAP MDG, ensuring lifecycle governance and change management.
- Deployment & Migration Support: Support global S/4HANA deployments, including template localization, data cleansing, mapping, validation, testing, and harmonization.
- Data Governance & Quality: Establish governance processes and implement data quality rulesets to ensure high‑quality data in S/4HANA.
- Integration & Alignment: Coordinate with other data domains to ensure end‑to‑end integration across S/4HANA and satellite systems.
- Business Partnering: Advise streams and stakeholders on optimal solutions and best practices to maximize value.
- Standards & Controls: Identify and document policies, standards, SOPs, and internal controls for A2D and R2R data compliance.
- Project Reporting: Report progress to PMO and governance bodies, identify risks, and propose mitigation plans.
- Knowledge Leadership: Stay current with technological developments and best practices; provide training and guidance to stakeholders.
Key Requirements
Domain Expertise
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Finance, or related field.
- Proven experience in data architecture, governance, and master data management.
- Strong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA and SAP MDG.
- Experience in global ERP deployments, data migration, and harmonization.
- Understanding of finance processes (A2D, R2R) and cross‑functional dependencies.
