We are seeking a skilled Data Quality Engineer to join our growing data governance team. The ideal candidate should bring 46 years of experience in data engineering or quality assurance, with hands-on expertise in data profiling, business rule engine (BRE) logic, and data quality scoring frameworks. The candidate will play a key role in implementing and maintaining data quality rules to ensure trust, accuracy, and compliance across enterprise data assets
.Hands-on experience with Data Governance tools is essential, with preference given to those familiar with any one of the tools Ab Initio (preferred), Informatica, Talend, Atlan, Databricks, or Snowflake

PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY
Detail-oriented Data Quality Engineer with 46 years of experience in implementing and managing data quality frameworks within BFSI or NBFC domains. Skilled in profiling, validating, and enforcing business data rules to maintain high data integrity across critical financial domains such as loans, customer onboarding, and collections. Proven ability to collaborate with data governance, compliance, and engineering teams to support analytics and regulatory reporting.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Define, implement, and maintain data quality rules and KPIs across retail and corporate finance domains.
- Conduct data profiling and discovery on key business datasets (e.g., customer, product, transactions) to identify quality gaps.
- Build data scoring mechanisms to continuously assess data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
- Work with Data Stewards, Owners, and Business Teams to translate quality expectations into automated rules.
- Document and maintain rule definitions and mappings in metadata management platforms or governance tools.
- Support data issue resolution workflows, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
- Align quality controls with RBI guidelines, regulatory audit readiness, and internal risk frameworks.
- Guide adoption and optimization of data governance tools like Ab Initio (Preferred), Informatica, Atlan, or Snowflake.
- Define roles and responsibilities for data stewards and custodians.
- Train and evangelize data governance practices across departments.
- Support audit and compliance reporting through accurate data lineage and usage logs.
- Ensure business continuity with proper data backup, archival, and purging strategies.
- Align governance goals with broader digital transformation and analytics strategies.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Hands-on experience with any one of the DQ tools (Ab Initio DQE (preferred), Informatica DQ, Talend DQ, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of Business Rule Engines (BRE) and data profiling
- SQL proficiency and understanding of data pipelines (ETL/ELT)
- Familiarity with metadata standards, data ownership models, and data governance frameworks
- Prior exposure to NBFC processes (e.g., loan origination, collections, credit bureau integration) is a plus
- Ab Initio experience is preferred but not mandatory
- Proficient in querying and validating data using SQL or similar languages.
- Experience working in or with data warehouse environments like BigQuery, or GCP-based lakes.
- Shell Scripting, Python, JSON, Java 8 & above, Spring Boot, REST APIs, GCP, Debugging skills, Design.
- GEN AI, LLM, RAG, Agentic RAG are preferred.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams including business, compliance, risk, and engineering.
- Strong documentation and requirement gathering skills to align technical governance with business objectives.
- Skilled in stakeholder management and articulating data governance value to non-technical audiences.

QUALIFICATIONS
- BE/B. Tech and/or M. Tech in any discipline
- 4-6 years of industry experience and 4-6 years in any Data Governance Quality tool (preferred is Ab Initio)
