Job Summary

The Data Governance Analyst partners closely with data owners, data stewards, data consumers, as well as Data Governance and IT to ensure the data is trustworthy and meets established quality standards. This role supports the creation and implementation of solutions that are part of the Data Quality Management framework and support the overall data strategy.

Essential Job Functions

  • Design and Development Design development and optimization of data quality solutions driven by business needs. Leverage data quality best practices to perform data quality activities such as data profiling or data cleansing. Translate functional and non-functional requirements into technical design, application code, and configuration parameters for on premise or cloud-based data platforms. Convert technical design and specifications into functioning components through the development of application code and configuration. Create and execute unit tests to ensure issues are identified within the software development lifecycle and continuously improve applications and processes with a focus on quality, efficiency, and user experience. Evaluate, implement, and manage data quality tools.
  • Documentation/Reporting - Analyze code to identify causes of errors and defects. Remediate known errors within development and production environments. Review application code for self and others. Define, support, and enforce code standards and guidelines relevant to the applications and technologies being supported. Follow procedures and maintain documentation for audit purposes.
  • Relationship Management - Collaborate with business users across multiple functions to identify attributes that require data quality and corresponding technical and business rules. Cultivate relationships across roles and functions to maximize collaboration and gain support for planned work. Work successfully with multi location/global teams. Request and utilize feedback to foster personal development.
  • Technical and Business Knowledge - Expectation is to be proficient in at least one (e.g.SQL, Java, Python, etc.) and develop or maintain at least one application (Informatica, IDQ, Databricks, etc.). Demonstrate the ability to work independently while demonstrating good business knowledge such as general financial services.

  • Some travel may be required

Minimum Qualifications


  • Associate's degree in information technology, computer science or related STEM field of study; or equivalent work experience.
  • 1+ years of experience working in data engineering and application development.
  • Experience with SQL, Data Analysis, Informatica Powercenter and IDQ, and Documentation.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science or related STEM field of study.
  • Experience in DevOps, automated testing, cloud engineering, or data warehousing.
  • Experience in Agile, Cloud technology foundations (Azure), Database Platform technologies, Solution design

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities


  • Good understanding of data quality methodologies and tools, and experience in applying them throughout the data lifecycle
  • Knowledge of SDLC and Agile practices
  • Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
