Chief Data Office (CDO) - Global Technology Solutions at State Street has a mandate to govern and report on data health across the enterprise and create value from the business data assets. CDO is rolling out multiple initiatives and operating model changes to execute these initiatives and generate value for our internal and external clients.

Who we are looking for

CDO is seeking a skilled and proven Data Engineering and Analytics lead. The candidate will be required to have a proven track record of delivery of technically advanced solutions in support of multiple, simultaneous data initiatives which span multiple disciplines and business lines. The candidate should have the ability to quickly get a solid understanding of existing and future State Street business, application and infrastructure environment.

What you will be responsible for

As a Data Engineering and Analytics Lead, you will:

  • Participate in Product and Data requirements, tech/data dependency analysis and outcome definitions
  • Own and lead the design, development, and support of Data Engineering and Analytics projects
  • Collaborate with team members on requirements and technical solutions, integrate solutions with multiple consumers and align with overall strategic direction of the program
  • Actively contribute to development and support of solutions via either custom code or by extending framework-based solutions
  • Proactively ensure minimum delays in systems deliverables, focus on performance optimization and usability/adoption of the total system
  • Leverages industry best practices share and mentor with team

  • Solid technical knowledge and hands-on experience on AWS/Databricks Cloud Data Engineering components, KPI/BI reporting and business and functional data analysis

  • Good interpersonal, facilitation, presentation and negotiation skills with a results oriented ownership mindset.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work in a team environment (including a global work model) and to interact and influence peers, managers, and senior leaders.
  • Good problem-solving skills and willingness and ability to learn new business and technology.
  • Ability to quickly come up to speed on SS processes, methodologies, and policies.
  • Ability to produce high quality work at a rapid pace to provide end-user value quickly

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineer, or another STEM field.
  • 15+ years proven experience.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, ANSI SQL, RDBMS (Oracle).
  • Public cloud experience and/or certifications (Azure or AWS)
  • Experience working as a member of a global solutions team following Agile methodology.
  • Experience using Jira as part of the SDLC.

Additional requirements

  • Experience in any of the following: ETL tools/concepts, data warehouse design, DB design/data modeling, API concepts and usage, Prompt Engineering, LLM interactions, and Business Intelligence tools are a plus.
  • Prior work experience in a financial services company is a plus.
