Overview

The Intuit T4I (Tech for Intuit) team is responsible for building Intuit's core capabilities surrounding enterprise Workforce, People and Places technologies. Our broader set of stakeholders include Intuit's HR, Facilities, IT, segment business unit leaders and all Intuit workers and employees including Intuit's expert workforce. The T4I tech team works closely with all the above stakeholders to ensure we are delivering the data capabilities needed to support Intuit's scale, growth and provide best in class employee and expert experience fueling productivity for Intuit's people.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and enterprise data products that align with Intuit's architecture and best practices.
  • Drive end-to-end technical execution of data-centric projects, ensuring quality and operational excellence. Lead technical design reviews and contribute to architectural decisions.
  • Set solid technical examples and patterns and drive best practices adoption including testing and observability
  • Solves complex, ambiguous technical bugs that may require system understanding outside their team's ownership
  • Create proof-of-concepts for new data applications, develop advanced data models, and introduce AI/ML solutions to drive business insights.
  • Implement best practices for observability, monitoring, and automation in data workflows. Ensure high performance and reliability of data services.
  • Work closely with data engineering, product management, HR, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver data solutions that meet business needs.
  • Mentor junior engineers, document best practices, and drive the adoption of Intuit's standards and processes.
  • Lead technology/design evaluation and adoption, considering long-term implications and integrating AI/GenAI tools to enhance team capabilities

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional experience in Software Engineering, with at least 2+ years focused specifically on Data Engineering, data strategy, and building data products.
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Expert proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Scala, or Java) for data processing.
  • Strong practical experience with Big Data technologies such as Apache Spark (PySpark/Scala) and distributed systems (e.g., Hadoop, Hive, or equivalent cloud services).
  • Solid experience designing and working with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS S3/EMR/Redshift, GCP BigQuery/Dataflow, or Snowflake).
  • Expert proficiency in SQL for complex querying, data profiling, and analysis.
  • Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases, data lakes, Kafka, and schema modeling.
  • Deep understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT processes, and data modeling techniques.
  • Experience with workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, Dagster, or similar).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Experience in enterprise engineering domains (e.g., Finance, HR, Places) is a plus.
