About the Role
We are seeking a passionate Data Engineer to design and build scalable datasets that power analytics across Joveo. Joining our Engineering Data team, you will collaborate with Data Analysts, Data Scientists, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into a robust data roadmap. Your work will directly involve designing robust data models, building both batch and real-time streaming pipelines, and optimizing our cloud data warehousing environments. By ensuring high data quality and adhering to security best practices, you will establish the solid, scalable data foundations needed to drive critical leadership decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to building and automating data processing systems that are reliable and performant.
- Work as part of the data engineering team to ensure pipelines are reliable, efficient, and maintainable.
- Design and implement data models for optimal storage, retrieval, and to meet business requirements.
- Be self-motivated and passionate about bringing efficiency into the system through optimizations.
- Proactively identify opportunities for improvement and contribute ideas to enhance the team's technical practices.
Required Qualifications
Technical Skills
- 1+ years of data modeling experience.
- Strong experience in SQL, along with Python.
- Familiarity with Git and CI/CD concepts.
- Experience with a cloud platform AWS preferred.
- Good understanding of data warehousing principles and experience working with a cloud data warehouse such as Snowflake or Databricks.
- Familiarity with Snowflake features such as stages, tasks, streams, Snowpipe, and warehouse scaling.
- Experience with data transformation tools such as dbt, and serverless compute (e.g., AWS Lambda).
- Experience with SQL performance tuning and end-to-end process optimization.
- Experience with data quality and validation.
- Experience or familiarity with real-time / streaming data pipelines.
- Good understanding of Kafka or event-driven architectures.
- Good understanding of Docker and Kubernetes concepts.
- Familiarity with designing and deploying systems with reliable monitoring and logging practices.
- Basic awareness of security best practices such as access controls, role-based access, key management, and secrets handling.
