Are you keen to help engineering teams materially improve the way they work You have the opportunity to join the team working on the new DevLens initiative, an ambitious data initiative to help our 40,000 IT employees organization accelerate value delivery to customers, improve organization efficiency and developer experience. Together with your team you will contribute to building and maintaining innovative data products spanning all engineering activities across UBS IT lines of business.
We're looking for a passionate Software Engineer to:
- Create generic scalable data collectors for a variety of data sources and data types
- Apply a broad range of software engineering practices, from analyzing user needs and developing new features to automate testing and deployment
- Take ownership and drive deliveries within a supportive team environment
- Follow engineering best practices, and ensure bank & regulatory compliance across the lifecycle
- Ensure the quality, security, reliability, and compliance of our solutions, promote re-use where possible.
- Build observability into our solutions to monitor production health, help to resolve incidents, and remediate the root cause of risks and issues
- Be comfortable within a geographically spread, fast-moving Agile team
- Continuously up-skill, learn new technologies and practices, reuse strategic platforms and standards, evaluate options, and make decisions with long-term sustainability in mind.

Your team
You will be part of the Development Practices & Standards (DP&S) Engineering global team within the Group CTO Core Platform Engineering area. The team is responsible for delivering DevLens, the new engineering data solution, and to help improve the efficiency of end-to-end Software Development Lifecycle for the Bank. The team has a strong continuous growth & improvement mindset,
at personal, team and department level.

This is one of many strategic initiatives to drive engineering excellence.
Your expertise
- 8+ years of experience delivering endtoend software engineering, building reliable, scalable solutions
- strong handson development experience with Python, Java or Golang
- solid understanding of cloud engineering, with experience in Azure, AZ900 certification is a plus
- practical experience with test automation including unit testing, integration testing, and applying engineering best practices
- musthave: expertise in CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, Git, and modern DevOps practices
- musthave: Solid understanding and experience with relational databases and SQL
- practical experience with Spark or Data Engineering is a plus
- nice to have: Experience with Kafka or similar streaming platforms
- exposure to observability including alerting and monitoring tools and patterns
- enthusiastic, self-motivated and client-focused
- adaptable, able to work across teams, functions and applications
- Familiar with Agile development practices
- you are a strong communicator, fluent in English, from making presentations to technical writing.
- you hold a relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent.
