Data Engineer - AVP

• Associate Vice Presidentlevel Data Engineer role focused on building digital-first customer experiences through innovative data solutions
• Responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and architectures
• Plays a key role in driving commercial value and insight through effective data engineering

Key Responsibilities

• Develop a deep understanding of the bank's data structures, metrics, and platform cost levers to build strategic, cost-effective solutions
• Carry out complex data engineering tasks including data extraction, transformation, and loading to make data usable for analysts and data scientists
• Build and automate scalable data pipelines, reducing manual stages and improving operational efficiency
• Source new data using appropriate tooling and integrate it into data solutions for delivery to customers
• Provide transformation solutions and advocate for data-driven product development improvements
• Participate in the data engineering community to support strategic initiatives and share best practices
• Lead planning and design of complex products and provide guidance to colleagues and wider teams
• Apply programming skills and AWS services to design and implement robust data architectures

Required Experience

• Proven experience in data engineering with a strong understanding of data usage, dependencies, and extracting value from large-scale data
• Hands-on experience in ETL technical design, data quality testing, cleansing, monitoring, and data sourcing
• Strong background in data modelling, data warehousing, and data exploration/analysis
• Experience using programming languages such as Python
• Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EMR, Glue, DataZone, API Gateway, and Snowflake
• Ability to design scalable data architectures and optimise data solutions for performance and cost
