About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our dynamic team remotely. This role is critical in managing and optimizing our client's data systems, with a primary focus on MSSQL and Azure cloud technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data pipeline development, data integration, and performance optimization. You will be responsible for maintaining the Operational Data Store (ODS), ensuring data integrity, security, and availability, and collaborating closely with data and analytics teams to deliver accurate and timely data solutions. Additionally, you will design and develop Azure Data Factory (ADF) workflows to enhance data processing capabilities, replacing traditional SSIS packages where applicable. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work on impactful projects with a US-based client, gaining exposure to modern data engineering practices and cloud technologies.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4+ years of professional experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on MSSQL and cloud-based data solutions.
- Hands-on experience managing data feeds and data integrations in production environments.
- Proficiency in Azure Data Factory (ADF) for designing and deploying data pipelines.
- Experience developing, troubleshooting, and deploying SSIS packages.
- Solid understanding of the Microsoft Azure cloud platform and related services.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex data issues.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the Operational Data Store (ODS), ensuring data accuracy, security, and high availability for business use.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure data pipelines are accurate, efficient, and well-integrated.
- Monitor the performance of data systems and optimize workflows to improve efficiency and reduce latency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues promptly to ensure continuous data availability for business decision-making.
- Design, develop, and document Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelines to automate data workflows and replace existing SSIS processes where appropriate.
- Develop new data integration solutions and enhance existing ones to support evolving business requirements.
- Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies across all data systems.
- Participate in code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing to promote best practices within the team.
