About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Azure Data Operations Engineer to join our Bangalore team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the governance, reliability, and performance of our data environments. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to orchestrate, monitor, and automate data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Synapse. Your expertise will help maintain data accuracy, availability, and security, supporting our data-driven decision-making processes. This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment where your contributions will directly impact the digital experiences of millions of customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, automation, and cloud operations, with a focus on Azure cloud services.
Qualifications
- 4 to 6 years of professional experience in data engineering, cloud operations, or related fields.
- Proven expertise in Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, and Azure DevOps.
- Hands-on experience with scripting languages such as Python, SQL, and PowerShell for automation tasks.
- Strong understanding of data governance, quality, and compliance standards.
- Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines for data workflows.
- Knowledge of big data frameworks like Spark and Delta Lake is a plus.
- Familiarity with data observability tools and cost optimization strategies.
- Azure certifications such as Azure Data Engineer Associate or DevOps Engineer Expert are preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Responsibilities
- Governance and oversight of data environments to ensure data availability, accuracy, and performance.
- Design, orchestrate, and monitor automated data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Synapse.
- Develop scalable CI/CD workflows utilizing Azure DevOps for seamless data deployment and version control.
- Implement alerting systems, auto-restart mechanisms, and SLA monitoring to ensure pipeline reliability.
- Set up proactive error handling, logging, and notification processes for failed or delayed data workflows.
- Standardize and document data processes to enable repeatability and auditability across teams.
- Enable lineage tracking and impact analysis to enhance data governance and trustworthiness.
- Enforce data quality rules, schema validation, and completeness checks at various stages of data ingestion and transformation.
- Collaborate with governance teams to ensure compliance with data cataloging, retention policies, and regulatory standards.
- Continuously optimize data processing costs, improve performance, and manage resource utilization across cloud environments.
- Stay updated with the latest cloud and data engineering best practices, integrating new tools and techniques as appropriate.
