Role Overview
The candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining data governance processes, with a focus on data lineage and metadata management. This includes working with tools like Alation, Manta, MHUB (AbInitio), and Informatica Information Manager (IIM) to ensure high-quality, compliant, and traceable data across applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and design solutions using Alation, Manta, MHUB, and IIM.
- Develop and maintain data governance processes and standards within Alation, leveraging Manta, MHUB, and IIM data lineage capabilities.
- Analyze data lineage and metadata to provide insights into data quality, compliance, and usage patterns.
- Lead the evaluation and implementation of new features and updates for Alation and Manta platforms.
- Participate in strategic planning and tactical solution sessions to define end-to-end data lineage for all applications in scope.
- Capture and enforce business/data quality rules.
- Troubleshoot issues and optimize workflows within data governance platforms.
Mandatory Skills
- Strong understanding of data management principles, including data governance, metadata management, and data lineage.
- Well-versed in data lineage concepts.
- Proficient in SQL and Oracle programming in a Unix environment.
- Basic ETL knowledge to understand AbInitio graphs or Informatica mappings.
- Experience with data governance tools such as AbInitio (MHUB), Informatica Data Quality (IDQ), or IIM.
- Proficiency in querying and manipulating data within Alation, Manta, IIM, and MHUB.
- Understanding of validation rules, constraints, or check routines for ensuring data correctness, meaningfulness, and security.
