Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Database Architect with over 12 years of hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and managing large-scale database solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in relational databases, cloud data platforms, and operating systemlevel scripting, with the ability to architect highly available, scalable, and secure database environments.
Mandatory Technical Skills
- MySQL Advanced database design, performance tuning, replication, backup, and recovery
- Linux / Unix Strong command-line proficiency and system-level troubleshooting
- Unix Shell Scripting Automation, monitoring, and maintenance scripting
- Amazon Redshift Data warehousing, query optimization, and performance tuning
- AWS Architecture and management of cloud-based database solutions (RDS, EC2, S3, IAM, monitoring, security)
Key Responsibilities
- Design and architect enterprise-grade database solutions aligned with business and scalability requirements
- Lead database architecture decisions for on-prem and AWS cloud environments
- Optimize database performance, availability, and security across MySQL and Redshift platforms
- Implement automation using Unix shell scripting for database maintenance and monitoring
- Define and enforce database standards, best practices, and governance policies
- Support data migration, upgrades, and modernization initiatives
- Collaborate with application, DevOps, and cloud teams to ensure seamless integration
- Troubleshoot complex database and infrastructure issues
Experience & Qualifications
- 12+ years of overall experience in database engineering and architecture
- Proven experience as a Database Architect in large or complex environments
- Strong experience with AWS-based database architectures
- Hands-on experience with performance tuning, capacity planning, and disaster recovery
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Nice to Have
- Experience with additional databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, Aurora, DynamoDB)
- Knowledge of data modeling and data warehousing concepts
- Exposure to DevOps / CI-CD pipelines for database deployments
