Role overview:

Seeking a Data Analyst specialized in Lab Equipment Management analytics with expertise in Power BI, Power Apps, and business metrics to join immediately. This role will support data-driven management of lab instruments, calibration, maintenance scheduling, utilization, compliance, and performance dashboards within a medical device manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with lab operations, calibration, quality, and maintenance teams to define key metrics for lab equipment management such as utilization rates, calibration status, maintenance schedules, downtime, and compliance indicators.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance Power BI dashboards for real-time visibility into lab equipment status, calibration history, validation schedules, and audit trails to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Design Power Apps solutions for data capture and workflow automation related to equipment calibration requests, maintenance work orders, nonconformance reporting, and preventive maintenance tracking.
  • Connect and integrate various data sources (calibration databases, maintenance logs, ERP systems, Excel, and SharePoint) into unified data models for comprehensive analytics.
  • Build advanced data models and DAX measures in Power BI, ensuring data accuracy and performance optimizations.
  • Perform root cause analysis and trend analysis to identify equipment failure patterns, calibration delays, or maintenance bottlenecks.
  • Provide actionable insights to lab managers and quality teams to optimize equipment uptime, reduce calibration cycle time, and ensure equipment reliability.
  • Establish and document data definitions, measurement standards, and analytics workflows for lab equipment management.
  • Support audits and regulatory compliance reviews with accurate, up-to-date analytical reports and visualization.
  • Train lab and quality personnel on analytics dashboards and Power Apps tools to promote self-service analytics culture.
  • Work closely with compliance and validation teams to align data and reporting practices with medical device regulatory standards (ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR Part 820).

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) as a Data Analyst or similar role with focus on lab equipment, maintenance, or calibration data analytics.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Power BI: data modeling, DAX, Power Query, report/dashboard development, and automated refresh setup.
  • Experience developing Power Apps for data capture and process automation.
  • Familiarity with lab equipment lifecycle management concepts including calibration, preventative maintenance, validation, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong SQL skills or ability to work with databases to extract and validate lab equipment data.
  • Knowledge of medical device regulatory requirements related to equipment management is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience in trend analysis, KPI definition, and root cause investigation.
  • Excellent communication skills to translate complex analytics into user-friendly dashboards and reports.
  • Detail-oriented and meticulous with data accuracy and documentation.
  • Strong collaboration skills across quality, lab, and IT teams.
  • Proactive problem-solver with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Adaptable and open to feedback in a regulated environment.
  • Experience with other Microsoft Power Platform tools like Power Automate for workflow automation.
  • Background in medical device manufacturing or life sciences labs.
  • Understanding of calibration and maintenance management software platforms
