Job Description: Sr. D365 BC Technical Consultant

Experience Required: 8+ years

Location: Bangalore (with travel to client sites in India & abroad when required)

We are looking for a driven mid-level Techno-Functional Consultant who can think independently, deliver high-quality technical solutions, and support business process requirements with minimal functional dependency.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain extensions in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (AL); experience with C/AL is an added advantage.
• Design, develop, and enhance custom modules, features, tables, pages, codeunits, APIs, and workflows.
• Build and optimize reports (AL report development), layouts (RDLC, Word), and dataports/XMLports.
• Ensure code is scalable, modular, and aligned with Microsoft best practices.
• Conduct unit testing, peer reviews, and document technical components.

• Analyse business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Ability to evaluate need for change, identify impact on existing customisations, standard modules, and integrations.
• Provide inputs to functional consultants and work collaboratively on solution design.
• Independently understand functional flows in modules such as Finance, SCM, Sales, Purchase, Inventory, Manufacturing (basic), and others.

Develop and maintain integrations with

Microsoft applications (D365 CE, Power Platform, D365 F&O, etc.)

Third-party systems (cloud/on-premise) through APIs, web services, OData, JSON, XML.

Experience working with Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD pipelines (preferred).

Good understanding of SQL Server, queries, performance optimization.

Experience in upgrading/migrating from NAV 2016/NAV versions to BC is desirable.

Work directly with clients to gather requirements and perform technical clarifications.

Provide effort estimation, impact analysis, and technical feasibility checks.

Support UAT, production deployment, and post-go-live activities.

Willingness to travel to client locations in India and abroad when required.

Skills Required:

Strong hands-on experience in AL programming on BC 15+.

Understanding of C/AL, Visual Studio Code environment, and extension model.

Experience in:

oReport development (AL, RDLC, Word Layouts)

oAPI/web service creation

oCodeunit/Page/Table customisation

oSQL Server basics

oBC Integration Framework

• Basic BI/reporting knowledge (Power BI, Jet Reports).
• Azure Services understanding (Logic Apps, Functions, Service Bus).
• Exposure to DevOps pipelines.

• Strong grasp of basic functional flows:

oGeneral Ledger

oPurchase & Sales cycle

• Inventory & Item
• Basic Manufacturing/Jobs
• Should NOT require a functional consultant to explain every logic; must be comfortable analysing functional requirements independently.
