Purpose of the role

General Mills India Centre seeks a passionate, detail-oriented Cyber Security Technology Asset Management (TAM) Engineer to join our IT team. This critical role drives the planning, execution, monitoring, and improvement of our enterprise Configuration Management Process, focusing on building, monitoring, and maintaining the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) within the ServiceNow environment. The successful candidate will ensure data accuracy, facilitate effective IT asset management, and collaborate extensively with product and technology teams to develop solution roadmaps, align strategies, and ensure successful execution of TAM initiatives. This position involves significant platform development, including ITOM discovery, integrations with external data sources, and process automation through scripting and code development.

Key Accountabilities

• CMDB Stewardship: Act as the CMDB subject matter expert, owning data integrity, accuracy, and governance. Design and manage authoritative data sources, Discovery, Service Mapping, and integrations. Proactively analyze, troubleshoot, and remediate complex CMDB data issues.
• Configuration Managem ent: Engineer and maintain scalable configuration and asset data models across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments. Review, validate, and govern infrastructure and application changes to ensure accurate CMDB representation.
• ServiceNow Administration & Development: Design, develop, and optimize ServiceNow ITAM and ITOM solutions, including workflows, business rules, client/server scripts, UI components, and forms. Provide advanced platform engineering support and lead technical problem resolution.
• Automation & Scripting: Develop and maintain automation using JavaScript and native ServiceNow capabilities to streamline discovery, CMDB, and asset lifecycle processes.
• Integration & API Management: Engineer and support integration between ServiceNow and enterprise systems (e.g., cloud platforms, monitoring tools, identity providers, and legacy systems). Manage REST/SOAP APIs and ensure reliable, secure data flow.
• Strategic Alignment: Partner with infrastructure architects and process owners to align ITAM and ITOM engineering solutions with enterprise IT strategy and operational requirements.
• Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement of CMDB, ITAM, and ITOM processes using ITIL and ServiceNow best practices, contributing to platform maturity and scalability.
• Problem Solving & Troubleshooting: Lead root cause analysis and resolution for complex issues related to discovery, patching, releases, upgrades, and CMDB discrepancies.
• Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Create and maintain technical documentation, standards, and engineering guidelines. Act as a knowledge resource for analysts and operational teams.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education - Full time graduation from an accredited university (Mandatory- Note: This is the minimum education criteria which cannot be altered)
• 4 - 5 years of experience with ServiceNow's ITOM suite (CMDB, Discovery, Service Mapping, CSDM, Event Management, Workflows).
• Proven experience integrating data from various sources into the CMDB.
• Strong understanding of ITAM principles, including configuration management and lifecycle management.
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving issues related to horizontal discovery and pattern creation.
• Proficiency in data formats (XML, JSON), regular expressions (REGEX), and database connectivity (JDBC, ODBC).
• Understanding of networking concepts (routers, switches, firewalls, NAT, load balancing).
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).

Preferred Qualifications

• ServiceNow certifications (Certified System Administrator (CSA), Certified Implementation Specialist - Discovery, Certified Implementation Specialist - Service Mapping).
• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure) and agent client collector (ACC) deployment and management.
• Experience with IT asset management tools such as NetBrain, ScienceLogic, TrueSight, or Infoblox.
• Familiarity with common audit, compliance, and regulatory standards related to Configuration Management and CIs.
