Cyber Security Engineer

Role Summary

We are seeking a motivated Cyber Security Engineer with 12 years of hands-on experience to support the protection of our IT infrastructure, cloud environments, network perimeter, and applications. The role involves assisting in security monitoring, implementing controls, supporting compliance efforts, and responding to security incidents across on-premises and AWS environments. This is an excellent opportunity to grow within a regulated financial environment and gain exposure to enterprise security operations.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor security alerts from SIEM, EDR, firewalls, and cloud security tools.

Assist in configuring and maintaining network and endpoint security controls.

Support vulnerability scanning activities and track remediation with IT teams.

Participate in log analysis, incident investigation, and basic threat triage.

Help maintain security configurations aligned with RBI guidelines and ISO 27001.

Support AWS security monitoring including IAM reviews and logging checks.

Assist in audits, documentation, and compliance reporting.

Work with infrastructure and DevOps teams to implement security best practices.

Participate in security awareness initiatives and internal reviews.

Required Skills & Technical Knowledge

Network & Firewall Basics

• Exposure to enterprise firewalls such as: Fortinet FortiGate, Sophos Firewall, Palo Alto (basic understanding)
• Basic understanding of VPN, NAT, network segmentation, and access controls

Cloud Security (AWS Basic Exposure)

Familiarity with:

• IAM concepts
• Security Hub or Cloud monitoring
• VPC security basics
• Logging and monitoring

Security Operations

• Understanding of SIEM concepts and alert monitoring
• Basic knowledge of endpoint security and threat detection
• Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools
• Basic incident response awareness

DevSecOps Awareness (Good to Have)

Exposure to: Trivy, SonarQube / code scanning tools

Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell / Python / Bash) preferred

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, Cybersecurity, or related field

12 years of relevant cybersecurity or IT security experience

Internship or SOC exposure is acceptable

CompTIA Security+

AWS Cloud Practitioner or AWS Security Fundamentals
