About The Role
The Senior Consultant, Core Cyber Operations - SOC at Cargill plays a pivotal role in strengthening the organization's cybersecurity defenses. This position is responsible for supporting organization-wide threat detection, incident response, and security operations. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in cybersecurity, incident management, and security monitoring to proactively identify and mitigate cyber threats. As part of the security team, you will lead efforts to analyze security alerts, respond swiftly to incidents, and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards. This role requires minimal supervision and involves collaboration with various internal teams and external partners to maintain a resilient security posture.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in cybersecurity, with a strong foundation in threat detection and incident response. Typically, candidates will have 8 or more years of experience in the field.
- Deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, including network security, threat intelligence, and security protocols.
- Proven expertise in Incident Response (IR), with a track record of managing complex security incidents effectively.
Responsibilities
- Lead the response to a wide range of cybersecurity incidents, conducting thorough investigations, confirming incidents, and leading containment efforts based on escalations from SOC analysts.
- Design, implement, and manage security solutions to enhance incident response processes, including continuous monitoring of security alerts using SIEM tools.
- Analyze logs from various sources such as EDR, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and servers to identify and investigate potential security incidents.
- Utilize threat intelligence feeds to stay updated on emerging threats and incorporate this knowledge into detection and response strategies.
- Document security incidents comprehensively, detailing steps taken and outcomes achieved, and develop process documentation to ensure consistent security operations.
- Lead and guide incident detection, response, and recovery activities, ensuring efficient management of cyber incidents.
- Oversee the design and operation of cyber services to provide situational awareness, including foundational analytics and automation initiatives.
- Foster partnerships with third-party entities to address and mitigate risks associated with external compromises, ensuring a coordinated response to external threats.
