Tertiary healthcare – advanced cardiothoracic and vascular surgery services within a multi-specialty hospital setting in India. We provide high-volume surgical care across adult and paediatric populations, backed by modern operating theatres, dedicated cardiac ICUs and multidisciplinary clinical teams.
Role (Primary Title): Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeon
On-site role based in India delivering comprehensive CVTS operative and perioperative care across complex cardiac, thoracic and peripheral vascular cases.
Role & Responsibilities
- Perform and lead complex open and minimally invasive cardiothoracic and vascular surgeries including CABG, valve repair/replacement, thoracic resections and peripheral bypass procedures.
- Manage intraoperative cardiopulmonary bypass, myocardial protection strategies and coordinate use of intraoperative monitoring such as TEE.
- Oversee perioperative care: preoperative assessment, operative planning, postoperative ICU management and complication management to optimise outcomes and reduce LOS.
- Lead multi-disciplinary case planning with anaesthesia, perfusion, cardiology, critical care and nursing teams; participate in hybrid OR and endovascular case collaborations.
- Maintain operative documentation, participate in morbidity & mortality reviews and implement quality-improvement protocols for surgical safety and infection control.
- Mentor junior surgeons and trainees, contribute to training programs, and support clinical audit and research initiatives.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- MBBS with MCh/DNB (Cardiothoracic Surgery) or equivalent postgraduate surgical qualification and valid Indian medical registration.
- Proven competency in coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) and valve repair/replacement techniques.
- Expertise in cardiopulmonary bypass management and intraoperative transesophageal echocardiography (TEE).
- Experience managing postoperative cardiac ICU patients and common cardiothoracic complications.
- Skills in minimally invasive cardiac surgical approaches and thoracic procedures.
Preferred
- Fellowship or focused training in paediatric cardiac surgery or advanced adult structural heart interventions.
- Experience with hybrid OR workflows, endovascular techniques and ECMO initiation/management.
- Track record of clinical research, publications or contributions to surgical teaching programs.
