A leading tertiary healthcare provider in the Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery sector delivering high-acuity surgical care, complex cardiac and vascular procedures, and comprehensive perioperative services across India. This is an on-site, hands-on surgical role within a high-volume cardiac program focused on clinical excellence, outcomes improvement, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Role & Responsibilities
- Perform elective and emergency adult & pediatric cardiothoracic and vascular surgeries including CABG (on-pump and off-pump), valve repair/replacement, aortic procedures, and thoracic operations with consistent adherence to surgical safety protocols.
- Lead the operating-room surgical team: pre-op planning, intra-op decision-making, surgical technique, and immediate postoperative handover to ICU teams.
- Provide comprehensive postoperative care in ICU and wardsmanage complications, coordinate ventilator/ECMO support decisions, and implement standardized care pathways for early recovery.
- Collaborate with cardiology, anesthesiology, perfusion, critical care, and nursing to design patient-specific treatment plans and participate in multidisciplinary rounds and case conferences.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation, contribute to morbidity & mortality reviews, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives to improve outcomes and efficiency.
- Mentor trainees and junior surgeons, support skill development in the department, and contribute to training programs and protocol development.
Skills & Qualifications Must-Have
- MBBS with MS (General Surgery) and MCh/DNB in Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery or equivalent (recognized Indian/International qualification).
- Proven operative competency in coronary artery bypass (on-pump and off-pump), valve procedures, and aortic surgery with strong perioperative ICU management skills.
- Experience with transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) for intraoperative assessment and decision-making.
- Active certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and demonstrated familiarity with cardiac ICU protocols and mechanical circulatory support (ECMO) management.
Preferred
- Experience in minimally invasive cardiac surgery, hybrid procedures, or endovascular vascular interventions.
- Prior exposure to program development, quality metrics, and academic/teaching responsibilities in a tertiary cardiac centre.
