Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Cutting Room Manager to lead and optimize our cutting operations across multiple product categories. This role is critical in ensuring efficient production planning, fabric utilization, and high-quality output while managing a large team in a fast-paced, ERP-driven manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily production planning, including lay planning, marker planning, and manpower allocation across multiple cutting tables
- Manage end-to-end cutting operations, including numbering, bundling, and dispatch to the sewing department
- Execute lay planning, roll planning, and lay slip generation using ERP systems
- Develop and optimize CAD markers for all planned cutting
- Supervise operations and maintenance of automatic spreading machines
- Oversee cutting processes, machines, and a team of cutting supervisors and operators
- Define, monitor, and control fabric consumption and utilization
- Ensure cutting output meets quality standards (accuracy of notches, markings, and dimensions)
- Implement and monitor bundling systems and quality checks
- Plan and coordinate dispatch schedules to downstream processes
Required Skills & Experience
- Hands-on experience in converting work orders into marker plans
- Strong expertise in marker planning and CAD systems
- Proven experience in managing and allocating workforce (30+ team members)
- Deep understanding of lay planning and table allocation
- Experience in bundling systems, quality inspection, and production flow management
- Working knowledge of ERP systems for fabric planning, lay planning, and fabric accounting
- Strong operational control over dispatch planning and execution
- Thorough knowledge of cutting room machinery and processes
Qualifications & Experience
- Graduate in a relevant discipline
- Certifications in cutting, garment manufacturing, or supervision are an added advantage
- 10+ years of experience, including at least 3 years as Head of Cutting / Cutting Room Manager
- Mandatory experience in apparel or bag manufacturing industry
- Experience in ERP-controlled production environments
- Prior exposure to multi-product and multi-location manufacturing setups
Soft Skills
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a structured, high-efficiency production environment
- Fluency in Gujarati is preferred
