Analyze drawings and specifications to determine the optimal use of materials and minimize waste.
Generate cutlists, including the type and size of materials required for each project.
Ensure that cutlists accurately reflect the specifications and requirements of each project.
Communicate with project managers and production workers to ensure that cutlists are used accurately and efficiently.
Monitor the use of materials and supplies, and order replacements as needed.
Maintain accurate records of materials and supplies, including the type, size, and cost of each item.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize the use of materials and reduce waste.
Qualification
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 2+ years of experience in furniture manufacturing or a related field.
Strong mathematical skills, with the ability to accurately calculate the quantity and size of materials required for each project.
Deep understanding of woodworking, including the types and properties of different woods and the tools and techniques used in furniture manufacturing.
Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with project managers and production workers.
Familiarity with computer-aided design (CAD) software and spreadsheet software, such as AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel.
