Job Title: Sr. Execu2ve/ Asst. Manager - CHA Customs Filing & Documenta2on
Location: Head office, Bangalore
Salary - INR 50,000 – 55,000 (gross) per month.
Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented CHA Customs Filing &
Documenta;on Lead to oversee end-to-end customs clearance opera;ons. The role involves
managing documenta;on, ensuring compliance with import and export regula;ons, and
leading a team responsible for customs filing ac;vi;es. The incumbent will coordinate with
customs authori;es and internal stakeholders to facilitate ;mely and efficient clearance of
shipments while maintaining adherence to all regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibili2es:
1. Customs Filing & Compliance
• Oversee import and export clearance processes in line with regulatory requirements.
• Ensure timely filing of Bills of Entry, Shipping Bills, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists,
SVB and other customs permits or certificates.
• Monitor shipment status and proactively advice or guide to avoid issues at clearance.
• Ensure compliance with customs regula;ons, DGFT / CBIC guidelines.
2. Documenta2on Management
• Review and validate all customs documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Stay updated with changes in customs regulations, tariffs, and trade policies.
• Maintain proper records of all customs-related documents.
• Verifying the WAREHOUSE / PD bonds validity.
• Handle classifica;on (HS Code), valua;on, and duty calcula;on.
3. Team Leadership
• Lead, mentor, and supervise the customs filing and documentation team.
• Allocate tasks, monitor performance, and ensure productivity standards are met.
• Conduct regular training or updating sessions to enhance team capability.
4. Process Improvement
• Identify opportunities to streamline filing and clearance processes.
• Implement best practices to improve efficiency and reduce turnaround time.
• Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for audit readiness.
• Iden;fy opportuni;es to streamline customs processes.
• Following SOPs for documenta;on and filing.
• Ensure turnaround ;me (TAT) targets are achieved.
5. Audit & Compliance
• Prepare for internal and external audits related to customs compliance.
• Identify risks and ensure mitigation strategies are in place.
• Maintain proper logs and documentation for all transactions.
• Ensure adherence to statutory requirements and company policies.
Qualifica2ons & Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Commerce, or a related field.
• Valid Valid G card holder (preferred).
• 5–10 years of experience in customs clearance, documentation, and compliance.
• Minimum 2–3 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
Key Skills & Competencies:
• Strong knowledge of customs regulations, import/export procedures
• Expertise in documentation and filing systems (ICEGATE, EDI, etc.)
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Problem-solving and decision-making ability.
• Time management and ability to work under pressure.
• Exper;se in HS classifica;on, valua;on, and duty structure.
• Familiarity with DGFT policies.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience working with CHA firms or logis;cs companies.
• Knowledge of EDI systems and customs so_ware.
• Ability to handle high-volume shipments.
• Experience in import documenta;on and clearance processes.
• Familiarity with ERP systems.
• Strong coordina;on skills with internal teams, importers, freight forwarders, and
customs officials.
• Knowledge of customs regula;ons, E-Sanchit, E-Way Bill genera;on, and marine
insurance prac;ces.
• Ability to handle ;me-sensi;ve and perishable shipments efficiently.
Working Condi2ons:
• May require coordination with ports, customs offices, and warehouses.
• Ability to manage time-sensitive and high-pressure situations.
