Job Description
Cadet & Trainee Ratings Planning, Recruitment & Vessel Allotment. To manage end-to-end planning, recruitment and deployment of Cadet & Trainee Ratings across the fleet, ensuring timely vessel allotment and effective coordination with training institutes, vessels, cadets and internal stakeholders
Job Responsibilities
- Plan and manage Cadet & Trainee Ratings intake in line with fleet requirements / nationalities
- Conduct interviews & Coordinate recruitment of deck, engine, electro cadets & Trainee Ratings from maritime institutes and referred by existing Wallem seafarers
- Conduct preliminary screening, interviews, and documentation verification for candidates
- Prepare deployment plans and allocate candidates to suitable vessels as per vessel availability
- Monitor candidates waiting lists, contract durations, and sign-on/sign-off schedules
- Ensure compliance with MLC, STCW, DG Shipping and company requirements
- Coordinate medicals, visas, courses, record books and pre-joining formalities
- Liaise with vessels, superintendents and training managers / IMEC regarding cadet performance & feedback
- Maintain accurate records in crewing systems (e.g., COMPAS) and prepare management reports as requested
- Handle candidate queries, expectations and communication professionally
Job Requirements
- Sailing or shore-based experience in maritime crewing or training preferred
- 2MFG qualification preferred
- Effective communicator with strong command of English
