Title: Credit Risk Analyst

Senior: Credit Risk Analyst / Senior Credit Risk Analyst / Credit Risk Team Lead

Years of Experience : 8-15 Years

Shift:UK Shift

Location: Bengaluru, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Pune and Chennai

Roles Relevant Experience, Skill and Knowledge :

1) Credit Risk Analyst / Senior Credit Risk Analyst /Credit Risk Team Lead :

  • Relevant experience within a financial institution (analyzing corporate client's risk, insights and credit);
  • Relevant Knowledge and understanding of FIG, Corporates, Middle Market Financing Products Preparation of detailed credit and financial analyses, risk asset reviews including evaluation of corporate, regulatory and industry risk, historical operating performance, projected operating performance and capital structure.
  • Sound knowledge of financials, cash flow, leverage & liquidity analysis, credit quality, assigned value risk analysis.
  • Knowledge of internal rating rationale, projections and credit recommendations
  • Ability to forecast and prepare Base Case Financial Projections, Potential Downside financial case projections models adjusting recessionary trends, counterparty specific risks and adjustments
  • Risk Modelling - Base Case Scenario, Recessionary Case Scenario, Risk Models and Projections for income, cash flow for risk rating and judging repayment capacity and risks
  • Ability to weigh macro and company factors for risk analysis and recommendations Strong knowledge on Global accounting standards - IFRS, US GAAP Accounting and classification/ International Financial Reporting Standards (10-K, 10-Q, SEC / SEDAR / FRC Filings, Press Release and Investor Presentation etc.)
  • Ability to understand private and public limited corporation structure, reporting and classification of financial segments and key credit assessment ratios / parameters Sound knowledge of parent and subsidiary exposure, debt structure, operating model and ownership structures
  • Strong Knowledge of MS Office Spreadsheet and formulas Strong Ability to handle seasonal peaks and dynamic changes in workflow Knowledge of any one Financial Spreading tools : Moody's Risk Analyst, FIS Optimist, Credit lens or allied spreading tools.

Roles, Education & Experience :

Masters in Business Administration Masters in Finance Professional

Qualifications: CA, CFA, CPA

Experience: Relevant experience in Corp. Banking, FIG and Middle Market Corporate Credit team or Investment Grade/Non-Investment Grade Assets Roles:

1) Credit Risk Analyst :

- 5-7 years of relevant experience in Corporate & Commercial Lending, FIG; CIB

- Credit Risk Management and understanding of financial statement analysis and Credit Review is must

- Good understanding of Cash flow statement analysis, Income Statement Analysis and Balance Sheet to analyse Credit Quality, Liquidity, Leverage and Coverage etc. Ability to interpret and highlight risks and early warning signals

- Ability to weigh macro and company factors for risk recommendations

2) Sr. Credit Risk Analyst:

- 7-10 years of relevant experience; in Corporate & Commercial Lending, FIG/Corporate & Investment Banking;

- Credit Underwriting, Credit Risk Management and understanding of financial statement, Credit Review,

- Credit Risk Analysis / Underwriting is must; Quality Focused and has performed quality and data analytics function

- Risk Modelling

- Base Case Scenario, Recessionary Case Scenario, Risk Modeling and Projecting cash flow for risk rating and judging repayment capacity and risks - Good understanding of Cash flow statement analysis, Income Statement Analysis and Balance Sheet to analyze Credit Quality, Liquidity, Leverage and Coverage etc. Ability to interpret and highlight risks and early warning signals.

3) Team Lead - Credit Risk

- People Management, Client Handling and Engagement/Operating Model

- 10-14 years Corporate & Commercial Lending, FIG/Corporate & Investment Banking; Credit Underwriting, Portfolio Management and/or Commercial Credit Risk Management

- Credit Risk Analysis is must; Quality Focused and has performed quality and data analytics function

- Risk Modelling

- Base Case Scenario, Recessionary Case Scenario, Risk Modellng and Projecting cash flow for risk rating and judging repayment capacity and risks - Have performed training functions for Credit, Financial Statement, Risk Analysis; Risk Modelling & Projections

- Well versed with liquidity, credit quality, leverage and cash flow concepts for mid to large counterparties; Understanding of corporate lending transactions, Credit Rating, Risk Analysis and Credit Management functions. Ability to weigh macro and company factors for risk recommendations.

Products, Contextual Knowledge / Complexity

Understanding of Products FIG, Corporates, Middle Market Segments Strong Understanding of Financial statements, Credit Analysis & Assessment Sound knowledge of financials, cash flow, leverage & liquidity analysis, credit quality, Ability to interpret, analyse and provide detailed credit, liquidity and financial analysis and insights on the counterparties for risk rating review.

Sound Knowledge of Risk Modelling

Base Case Scenario, Recessionary Case Scenario, Risk Modellng and Projecting cash flow for risk rating and judging repayment capacity and risks

Industry/Segments:

Corporate & Investment Bank, FIG and Middle Market

Corporate Products: Investment & Non-investment grade credits, FIG Corporate Loans Good accounting skills & knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS basis regional requirements

Knowledge of any one Financial Spreading tool is good to have :

  • MRA, FIS Optimist, Credit lens or allied spreading tools Risk Modelling, Financial Projections & Ability to weigh macro and company factors for risk recommendations
  • Understand Client performance through received from customers as well as benchmarking data and publicly available information. Knowledge of industry and sectors and impact of macroeconomic environment Identify timely risk mitigating actions to protect bank and support the customer Link credit assessment to primary and secondary sources of repayment
  • Question the need for sector and company analysis to evaluate debt servicing ability
  • Assess the ability of the debt to meet the commercial needs.
  • Debate the purpose of borrowing, the risks, and the expected structure of the debt
