About The Role

We are looking for an experienced Credit Manager to lead portfolio risk management and credit strategy for our Supply Chain Finance business. This role goes beyond underwriting and focuses on monitoring portfolio health, designing credit policies, and driving data-backed risk decisions across retailer and distributor financing. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of MSME lending, GST-based underwriting, and portfolio analytics, along with the ability to balance growth and risk.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and monitor the overall credit portfolio, ensuring portfolio quality, delinquency control, and risk mitigation.
  • Design, implement, and continuously refine credit policies, underwriting frameworks, and risk thresholds.
  • Analyze portfolio performance using GST, banking, bureau, and platform data to identify trends and emerging risks.
  • Define risk segmentation, limit-setting frameworks, and exposure norms across customer cohorts.
  • Work closely with underwriting, business, and data teams to improve decisioning models and approval funnels.
  • Drive early warning systems (EWS) and proactive risk controls to minimize NPAs and delinquencies.
  • Liaise with lending partners/NBFCs on portfolio performance, risk sharing, and credit program enhancements.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Mentor and guide the underwriting team on risk assessment and policy adherence.

Requirements

  • 5 - 10 years of experience in credit risk, preferably in supply chain finance / MSME lending / fintech / NBFCs.
  • Strong expertise in portfolio risk management and credit policy formulation.
  • Deep understanding of GST data, banking analysis, and cash flow-based lending.
  • Proven ability to work with data, derive insights, and drive risk-based decisions.
  • Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets; familiarity with credit models and analytics tools is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate/Postgraduate in Finance, Commerce, Economics, or related field.
  • Experience in Purchase Invoice Discounting or Supply Chain Finance products.
  • Prior experience working with fintechs or NBFC partnerships.
  • Exposure to building or scaling credit programs from 0 to 1 or growth stages is highly desirable.
