Crane Operator

A Crane Operator is responsible for operating mobile, rough terrain, and tower cranes to lift, move, position, and place equipment and materials during rig move operations. This role requires precision, attention to safety, and the ability to work closely with rigging teams to ensure the successful relocation of rigs and associated components.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operations of Heavy Lifting Equipment:

Operate various types of cranes to lift and move equipment, machinery, and materials safely and efficiently.

Perform pre-operation inspections to ensure cranes are in safe working condition and report any maintenance needs.

Calculate load weights and determine the appropriate lifting methods and equipment to use.

2. Safety Compliance:

Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies while operating cranes.

Conduct routine safety checks and ensure that all rigging is secure before lifting.

Attend safety meetings and training sessions to stay updated on industry best practices and safety standards.

1. Coordination and Communication:

Communicate with riggers and other team members to coordinate lifting operations and ensure clear understanding of tasks.

Use hand signals and radio communication to maintain coordination during complex lifts.

Respond quickly to signals and instructions from rigging teams to adjust crane movements as needed.

2. Maintenance and Documentation:

Perform routine maintenance and checks on cranes to ensure they are in good working order.

Maintain accurate records of crane operations, including load weights, lifting methods, and maintenance activities.

Report any incidents, near misses, or equipment malfunctions to supervisors promptly.
