Job Description: CPQ Architect (Salesforce)

Role Overview
The CPQ Architect will be a technical leader responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing complex Configure-Price-Quote (CPQ) solutions, primarily using Salesforce CPQ . This role requires a deep blend of technical development expertise and architectural design skills to translate intricate business requirements into scalable, high-performance CPQ and Quote-to-Cash solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Solution Design (4+ Years in an Architect role)
- Lead the design of end-to-end Salesforce CPQ and related Revenue Cloud (Billing) solutions, ensuring the architecture is scalable, secure, and aligns with overall business and IT strategy.
- Translate complex business processes, including product configuration, pricing, discounting, approvals, contracting, and renewals, into comprehensive technical and functional specifications.
- Conduct technical design sessions, architectural reviews, and document the solution design, integration touchpoints, and data model.
- Define and enforce Salesforce and CPQ best practices, coding standards, and governance processes across development teams.
- Oversee the integration of Salesforce CPQ with external systems such as ERP, Billing, and other enterprise applications using various integration patterns (e.g., REST/SOAP APIs, Middleware).
Technical Development & Leadership (6+ Years in a Salesforce Developer role)
- Utilize proficiency in Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Visualforce, SOQL, and JavaScript to develop custom solutions and extensions where standard CPQ functionality needs enhancement.
- Drive hands-on configuration of complex CPQ features including:
- Product Configuration: Bundles, Product Rules, Option Constraints, Configuration Attributes.
- Pricing: Advanced Pricing Rules, Discount Schedules, Contracted Pricing.
- Document Generation: Quote Templates, Conga/DocuSign integration.
- Workflow: Advanced Approvals and automated processes using Flow/Apex.
- Lead and mentor a team of Salesforce developers and consultants, providing technical guidance, conducting code reviews, and ensuring solution quality.
- Manage technical debt and ensure the long-term maintainability and performance optimization of the CPQ platform.
Stakeholder Management & Delivery
- Collaborate effectively with business stakeholders (Sales, Finance, Operations) to gather requirements and provide technical guidance.
- Partner with Project Managers to define project scope, estimate effort, manage technical risks, and ensure successful, on-time delivery of CPQ projects.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the Quote-to-Cash process efficiency and user experience.
