Role Overview
The Country Technical Services Manager UHM India will lead the Technical Services and Engineering function for UHM India, driving strategic maintenance initiatives while ensuring operational excellence across all properties and the corporate office.
This role will be instrumental in establishing engineering standards, preventive maintenance frameworks, technical compliance, CAPEX planning, and asset protection strategies.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Strategy & Leadership
Develop and execute the technical services strategy for UHM India aligned with global objectives.
Act as a strategic partner to Country Leadership, General Managers, and property engineering teams.
Support business expansion, pre-openings, renovations, and integration of new properties.
2. Engineering Operations & Maintenance
Lead preventive and corrective maintenance strategies across all properties.
Ensure optimal functioning of MEP systems, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire & life safety systems, and guest room infrastructure.
Drive maintenance planning to maximize asset uptime and operational efficiency.
3. CAPEX, Projects & Asset Management
Lead annual CAPEX planning and technical budgeting across the India portfolio.
Oversee technical project execution including refurbishments, fit-outs, and new openings.
Partner with Finance and Operations on asset lifecycle planning and cost optimization.
4. Compliance, Safety & Risk Management
Ensure full compliance with local statutory regulations, fire & life safety requirements, and technical certifications.
Lead engineering audits, risk assessments, and compliance inspections.
Maintain high standards of workplace safety and emergency preparedness.
5. Vendor & Contractor Management
Manage technical vendors, AMC providers, and third-party contractors.
Ensure service level agreements and quality standards are consistently met.
Drive procurement support for technical equipment and maintenance contracts.
6. Sustainability & Energy Management
Drive sustainability initiatives across properties including energy efficiency and water conservation programs.
Implement utility cost-saving measures and monitor consumption trends.
Support ESG and sustainability reporting initiatives.
7. Systems, Reporting & Governance
Implement engineering systems, maintenance dashboards, and reporting frameworks.
Provide technical analytics and asset performance insights to leadership.
Ensure documentation accuracy, compliance records, and confidentiality.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).
10 12 years of progressive technical services / engineering experience, with at least 35 years in a leadership role.
Hospitality/Hotel industry experience is a must.
Strong knowledge of engineering compliance, fire & life safety, and building systems.
Experience in multi-property or regional technical leadership is an advantage.
