About The Opportunity
We are hiring a Couchbase Database Architect to lead architecture, deployment, and operational excellence for Couchbase clusters across production and DR environments. This is an on-site role in India focused on designing scalable clusters, driving performance tuning, and implementing robust HA and backup strategies.
Role & Responsibilities
- Design and validate Couchbase cluster architectures (capacity, sharding, node sizing) for production workloads and DR.
- Lead production deployments, upgrades, and patch management; define deployment patterns for on-premise and cloud-hosted Couchbase.
- Implement and manage replication and disaster recovery using XDCR, backups, and restore procedures to meet RTO/RPO targets.
- Drive performance tuning and query optimization using N1QL, indexing strategies, and resource isolation to achieve SLAs.
- Automate cluster provisioning, configuration, and monitoring using IaC/automation tools and runbooks; integrate observability and alerting.
- Establish operational standards, capacity planning, runbooks and mentor engineering/operations teams on Couchbase best practices.
