Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Product Costing preferably with both Techno commercial and Design/Technical experience in Automotive domain Proficiency in Costing procedures and clear understanding of the cost and sourcing activities throughout development stage Cost Negotiation skills and Attention to detail on cost and sourcing strategies Good Analytical and Communication skills Self-starter/ motivated and be able to work well with cross functional teams across regions

Experience in Automotive Exterior/Interior/Chassis/Electrical systems commodities
Familiarity with manufacturing processes a plus
Know the commodity and understand cost drivers to deliver cost targets.
Proficiency in CAD and PLM tools

Preferred candidate profile

Cost:
Track and update cost status including Risks & Opportunities (R&O) and report out regularly from Program start to Production Release
Lead Trade Off discussion with Cross Functional Teams for cost changes.
Work with the supplier for Quote & with Cost estimation team for estimates for engineering changes.
Facilitate and maintain minutes for Team of 4 (To4) Meetings with Finance, Buyer and Cost Estimation teams
Discuss and Negotiate with the suppliers on Material cost, Tooling cost & ED&T quotes throughout the design, development and launch phases.
Maintain Change tracker from Program start to Job 1 and report out.
Approve Commodity Change Management Forms (CMF) for cost changes
Lead cost approvals discussions in all cost related forums, through Change Management Forms (CMFs) and Change Request Form (CRFs).
Benchmark competitors cost data for all commodities.

Sourcing:

Update and track progress of Supplier Involvement Requests (SIR) coming from D&Rs.
Support Purchasing team in Supplier Involvement Requests (SIR) approval for unfunded SIRs.
Lead and track Supplier Involvement Requests (SIR) approval in ED&T governance board for funded SIRs.
Support on SOBA plan and tracking.
Verify ED&T mountain chart against the ESOW provided and Negotiate ED&T Mountain Charts with suppliers.
Track and follow up ED&T approval with governance board.
Prepare and share Long Lead Funding (LLF) estimates to Program.
Track and report Tool/ Purchase orders updates to D&Rs, post Production release.
