Design engineer-Bus/Trucks

Role & responsibilities

• Hands on Product design knowledge in Body, Cabin & Chassis for Large commercial & Passenger vehicles (Bus & Trucks).
• Experience in Design & Development of Body, Cabin & Chassis modules comprising BIW (Body-in-White)/Closures & Structures components.
• Working experience in Large and Complex Systems & Sub-systems.
• Good in Design considerations of Sheet metal, Fabrication, Welded Assemblies.
• Good understanding of different Bus/Truck Sub system Packaging and Installation.
• Experience in different configurations of Layout Design, Packaging and Integration of different Systems /Sub systems for Bus & Trucks.
• Good understanding on different Engineering Concepts & mechanical calculations involved in vehicle design.
• Design feasibility of components and systems adhering to manufacturability, tooling feasibility and assembly.
• Good in GD&T and Manufacturing standards, processes, methods and procedures.
• Good communication & leadership skills desired.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor/Masters degree in Mechanical/Automobile/Production Engineering or a related field desired. Equivalent education and experience required.
• 3 - 8 years of experience working with automotive systems particularly in Large commercial vehicle (Bus & Trucks) .
• High level proficiency 2D & 3-D CAD design in UG-NX required.
• Hands on with Teamcenter product lifecycle management
• CAE / FEA simulation knowledge added advantage.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, required.
• Exposure with electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems on mobile and on-highway heavy vehicles added advantage.
