Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Extreme Networks Specialist to lead and execute enterprise network transformation and migration initiatives for banking and financial services clients. The role involves designing, implementing, and migrating large-scale LAN, WAN, and SD-WAN environments with a strong focus on Extreme Networks technologies.

Candidate must have expertise and hands-on experience with Extreme Networks solutions, and a proven track record in delivering secure, compliant network migrations in regulated banking environments.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement LAN, WAN, and SD-WAN architectures using Extreme Networks solutions.
  • Perform network assessments, discovery, and gap analysis prior to migration.
  • Design migration strategies including:
    • Phased migrations
    • Data center/network transitions
    • SD-WAN transformation
  • Migrate legacy environments to modern, scalable network architectures by ensuring minimal downtime and zero/low impact to business-critical banking applications.
  • Develop and execute migration runbooks, rollback plans, and validation procedures.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders including client teams, security, application owners, and vendors.
  • Ensure adherence to banking regulatory and compliance standards during migrations.
  • Perform post-migration validation, performance tuning, and stabilization.
  • Support cutover activities, including weekend/night deployments if required.
  • Document migration processes, architecture changes, and lessons learned.
Required Skills & Expertise

  • Strong hands-on experience with Extreme Networks technologies:
    • EXOS / VOSS switching platforms
    • Extreme Fabric Connect (SPB)
    • Extreme Cloud IQ (preferred)
  • Experience in designing and deploying Extreme-based enterprise networks
  • Experience with enterprise networking devices (Cisco, Juniper, etc.)
  • Proven experience in:
    • Enterprise network migration / transformation
    • Data center migration or network consolidation
  • Legacy to SD-WAN transitions
    • Network migration and transformation projects
    • Data center migration / consolidation
    • Legacy to SD-WAN transitions
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Migration methodologies
    • Risk mitigation and rollback strategies
Change and release management

Service Delivery

  • Experience in IT services / managed services organizations
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes (incident, change, problem management)
  • Experience delivering projects for banking or financial services clients

Experience working in highly secure and audit-driven environments

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications: CCNP / CCIE or equivalent is a plus
  • Extreme Networks certifications (ECA / ECS / ECP)
  • Experience with cloud networking (AWS / Azure)
  • Automation/scripting (Python, Ansible) is a plus

  • Strong planning and execution skills
  • Excellent stakeholder and client communication
  • Ability to handle high-risk, time-sensitive migration windows
  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation practices
