Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled
Core Network Performance Engineer to monitor, analyze, and optimize performance across EPC and IMS networks. The role focuses on KPI analysis, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of voice and data services in a telecom environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerformance Monitoring & Optimization
- Monitor and analyze EPC & IMS network KPIs to ensure optimal performance.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and implement optimization strategies.
- Evaluate and define new KPIs and counters for performance improvement.
Troubleshooting & RCA
- Investigate and resolve performance issues impacting voice and data services.
- Perform detailed root cause analysis (RCA) using logs, traces, and analytics tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for faster issue resolution.
Reporting & Analytics
- Generate performance reports and dashboards using monitoring tools.
- Translate technical insights into business-relevant reports and recommendations.
- Use data analysis tools to derive actionable insights.
Automation & Scripting
- Develop scripts (Python/Bash) for automation of monitoring, log parsing, and reporting.
- Improve operational efficiency through automation initiatives.
Project & Vendor Coordination
- Support performance activities during project implementation and HOTO (Hand-over to Operations).
- Work with vendors and internal teams for issue resolution and improvements.
Documentation & Operations
- Maintain documentation for configurations, KPIs, and optimization guidelines.
- Participate in 24/7 operations support as required.
Technical Skills RequiredCore Network Knowledge- Strong understanding of:
- EPC (Evolved Packet Core)
- IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem)
- Knowledge of network elements:
- HLR/HSS, MME, SGW/PGW
- PCRF/PCF, OCS
- IMS: P-CSCF, I-CSCF, S-CSCF, TAS, ASBC
- Familiarity with 5G SA (Standalone) & SBA architecture (preferred)
Protocol Expertise- Hands-on knowledge of:
- S1AP, Diameter, SIP, GTP
- HTTP/2 (REST/JSON-based interfaces)
Monitoring & Observability Tools- Experience with:
- Wireshark (protocol analysis)
- Monitoring tools like Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus
Data & Analytics- Knowledge of:
- SQL, Python (Pandas/NumPy), or R
- Ability to perform data analysis and visualization
Cloud & Virtualization- Exposure to:
- VNF/CNF environments
- Cloud-native telecom architectures
Required Experience & Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in Core Network Performance / Telecom Operations
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Telecommunications / IT or equivalent
- Experience in KPI monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization
