Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java and related frameworks (Spring Boot preferred).
  • Integrate and customize Google Retail Search (GRS) APIs into the e-commerce platform.
  • Build scalable, high-performance microservices to support search, catalog, and recommendation features.
  • Collaborate with frontend, product, and data teams to enhance search relevance and user experience.
  • Implement and optimize data pipelines for product catalog ingestion into GRS.
  • Ensure system reliability, performance, and security best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to search and backend services.
  • Contribute to architecture decisions and technical design discussions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in Java (8/11/17) and Spring Boot / Spring Framework
  • Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred, AWS/Azure acceptable)
  • Familiarity with API integrations and third-party services
  • Understanding of search technologies (e.g., Elasticsearch, Solr, or similar)
  • Experience with databases (SQL/NoSQL such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
  • Knowledge of event-driven architecture (Kafka / Pub-Sub is a plus)
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
