About the Role
The Subject Matter Expert (SME) will play a pivotal role in advising and executing strategic initiatives within the copper procurement and supply chain sectors. The selected expert will utilize their comprehensive knowledge of copper sourcing, trading, and downstream supply chain management to deliver insights and recommendations that align with the client's objectives, especially within the context of Indian domestic copper smelting activities.

Tasks & Deliverables
- Provide expert advice on copper sourcing strategies from international markets.
- Analyze and interpret LME pricing mechanisms and their impact on the Indian market.
- Guide procurement of refined copper, including cathodes, rods, and billets.
- Offer insights into import-export regulations and customs frameworks.
- Evaluate global supply-demand dynamics, focusing on regions like Chile, Peru, and DRC.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction in copper procurement, including freight and forex optimization.
- Support contract structuring and price risk management strategies.
- Share industry benchmarking insights and facilitate data-driven decision-making.
- Collaborate with the client's team to implement strategic supply chain improvements.
Required Skills
- Deep domain expertise in the copper industry, specifically sourcing and supply chain management.
- Hands-on experience in international trading and procurement of refined copper products.
- Profound understanding of LME pricing mechanisms and related Indian market dynamics.
- Familiarity with global copper supply-demand trends affecting Indian imports.
- Experience in cost reduction initiatives and risk management practices.
