The Mission
We are looking for a multiplier to lead our engineering team in building the next generation of travel experiences. In the travel industry, every millisecond counts-whether it's fetching real-time flight data or managing hotel inventory across global time zones. You will be responsible for the technical health of our platform and, more importantly, the growth and productivity of the engineers who build it.
Key Responsibilities
- Engineering Leadership & Mentoring (60% Focus) Development : Conduct regular 1-on-1s and technical workshops to transform junior developers into high-performing full-stack Excellence : Lead by example with high-quality, reusable, and testable code. You will own the code review process, focusing on performance for high-traffic search and booking Coaching : Educate the team on travel-specific complexities, such as NDC (New Distribution Capability), GDS integrations (Amadeus/Sabre), and the logic of dynamic pricing.
- Delivery Oversight & Activity Tracking (25% Focus) :
Velocity Tracking : Manage the engineering roadmap using JIRA/Azure DevOps. You will track sprint velocity and burn-down charts to ensure timely delivery of features like loyalty programs or multi-currency payment Management : Identify team bottlenecks (e.g., environment downtime, unclear requirements) and proactively resolve them to keep the development pipeline Liaison : Work closely with Product Managers to translate complex travel business logic into technical user stories.
- Architecture & Travel Tech Stack (15% Focus) :
Scalable Systems : Oversee a Microservices architecture capable of handling seasonal traffic spikes (e.g., holiday Tuning : Optimize search latency and caching strategies (using Redis or Elasticsearch) to ensure near-instantaneous flight/hotel results.
Required Technical Expertise
Backend : Java 17+, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, : React.js or Angular (Mastery of state management and responsive design for mobile-first & Cache : PostgreSQL/MySQL, Redis (for real-time pricing/availability), and Specific (Preferred) : Experience with OTA platforms, Payment Gateway integration, or Booking Engine : AWS/Azure/GCP, Docker, Kubernetes (EKS/AKS).
